As stated in the Archdiocesan guidelines, a Pastor can only designate a parishioner as "active" if they:
* The Parish can only verify contributions received with checks, offertory envelopes or on-line. We strongly encourage the use of envelopes or electronic giving for everyone. We cannot verify contributions of loose cash. **A sacrificial contribution is one that is planned, prayerful, and proportionate to income. We recommend the biblical principle of the tithe: 5% of income to the parish, 1% to the Archdiocesan Annual Appeal, and 4% to other charities of your choice, for a total return to God of one-tenth of household income.
